Make a Bird Nesting Ball

(Earthy Explorer Series for Youth Ages 7-12)
Let’s give our feathered friends a bit of help as they begin looking for nesting material. Using Grapevines we will make a ball to hold a treasure trove of materials for the birds. Bits of twine, fur, and fibers will be put into the ball for the birds to ‘shop’ from.

Waxed Dipped Amaryllis Flower Bulb Class
Friday, March 7 or Saturday, March 8 (1:00pm)
Waxed amaryllis bulbs are completely self-sustaining and will bloom with no care whatsoever. Waxed amaryllis bulbs make great little gifts that you can feel good about giving-a bit of cheer in a small package blooming just in time for Easter.

Hunter Education Course
Saturday, March 15 & 22 (9:00am-3:00pm)
Taught by specially trained and highly qualified Certified volunteer and Division of Wildlife staff. They’ll help you understand where and when it’s legal to go for the game you want. Classes will take place over two days (approx. 8-12 hours). Your instructor will cover a range of topics from conservation, safety, and ethics to the proper handling of shotguns, handguns, bowhunting gear, and more. This course is designed for every age and ability. You must attend both days.

Introduction to Mead (Honey Wine) Making

Mead, or Honey Wine, is the world’s oldest alcoholic beverage. Characterized by the use of honey as the primary fermentable sugar, mead has experienced a resurgence in popularity in recent years. This course will explore the basics of modern Mead making practices.
